Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the First and the Last,
the Beginning and the End.”
Rev 22.13
EDGE 5 – Autumn 2004 – Seize the Day
Living Life to Full
Welcome
Chill with a drink! Write down as many animals as you can on separate bits of paper, then each person takes a slip and has to mime it out to the others
Worship
Think of what you enjoyed over half term – be thankful – the people you were with, the things you did, places you saw, rest you had.
Word
Do you think ‘living life to the full’ is something you do now or something you work towards?
 Why?
Remember Robin Williams’ advice in Dead Pet’s Society – “Carpe Diem” – telling a group of students to learn from past students who are now feeding daffodils to seize every opportunity to do something good.
You know the advert for the One Account? You know the one that talks about “we can make that “one day” today. What do you dream about doing ‘one day’?
Yes good to have ambitions… but what about today?
Read Ecclesiastes 11:8,9
How does the writer view life? Youth? Oldness?
What warning does he add?
Read Ecclesiastes 12:1-7
What is the writer describing?
How would you describe old age in a poetic way?
So what she you understand as young people
In what areas of your life would God say to you: “seize the day”, “what are you waiting for?”
Witness
Pray for one another – that we will not be people who put off till tomorrow what God wants us to do today.
