the First and the Last,
the Beginning and the End.”

Stand Strong
Welcome
Who can stand strong… try one of these…
the foot stamping game: two people lock hands then have to try and stand on the other person’s toes
the sit against a wall game – who can sit against a wall for longest (thighs to be at 90 degrees to the wall)
the what is the best position to stand in so as you can’t be pushed over game. Ensuring that no-one is pushed too hard, work out the best way of standing so that you won’t feel over if someone gently but firmly pushes you.
Worship
Be thankful to God for each other and for people who encourage you
Word
(We continue our investigation of Thessalonians. So far we have seen how the Church in Thessalonica was born and began to be nurtured, we now see how Paul sought for it to be established.)
Read 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:13
Who is helped to stand strong in this passage…?
How are the Thessalonians encouraged to stand strong?
How is Paul encouraged?
How are we ensuring we stand strong?
From trials, temptations, attacks of Satan?
Do we get encouragement when we hear of other people’s faith?
How can we be better at encouraging each other?
One of the reasons Paul writes to the Thessalonians is to make sure their faith is ‘full’. What bits of your faith do you think you are unsure about…
Witness
Pray Paul’s prayer for one another… (3:10-13)
That faith will become complete (v10)
That people’s love will abound! (v12)
That we will all live blameless lives (v13)
So that we can continue to stand strong
