Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the First and the Last,
the Beginning and the End.”

EDGE 4 – Spring 2005 – Encourage… by worship
Welcome
Write “POWRISH” on a large piece of paper in large letters…how many words can pairs make from those letters. A good score is over 15.
Give a prize to the winners!
Did any pair get the word ‘worship’?
Worship & Word
Write the word ‘Worship’ on the paper and invite the pairs to come up with a definition of worship. Give people a chance to discuss their definitions…
When do they find worship easiest? What type of worship do they enjoy? What helps them to worship?
One person’s description is as follows:
“Worship is centering our mind’s attention and our heart’s affection on the Lord”
  When/how can we do this…?
Read Psalm 81:1-3
 When should we worship?
Have you been focusing your thoughts on times in church with music etc…
How can we encourage one another to worship from Monday to Saturday?
Read Matthew 2:1-12
How can we seek out Jesus today?
If worship is ‘centering our mind on the Lord’… practice talking together in a way that is worshipful!
Huh? Confused? How can we do this?
Have a look at Luke 24:13-32 – was this what these two men were doing?
Do we need to talk about Jesus? What else could we be chatting about?
Encourage one another to do it! Encourage each other to worship just by the content and flavour of our conversations
Witness
Pray for one another – either going round / or in small groups – to be people who worship
