CHILDREN and BAPTIST CHURCHES...
Baptist churches don’t baptize or Christen babies. Instead we wait until people are old enough to make up their own minds about Jesus Christ and then we baptize, by full immersion in water, those who want to be committed Christians.

wp11bf64e9.gif Nevertheless, just as Jesus welcomed and blessed little children we believe it's very important to do the same. So, for practicing Christian parents who feel able to make promises to bring up their children in the Christian faith we have a special Dedication Service. This takes place, by arrangement with the Minister, in a normal Sunday morning service at Cosham. In a Dedication we welcome your child and pray for God's blessing on him/her but the parents are also dedicating themselves before God in the hugely important task of parenting.wpcc10ee37.gif

Any parent can also ask the Minister about a Service of Thanksgiving for their child. This also takes place as part of a morning service when we welcome and give thanks to God for the gift of your child. It doesn't involve you making the promises of a Dedication Service but it's a lovely way of asking God's blessing on you and your family.

At Cosham we're committed to being a welcoming and open family church. If you'd like to know more about Thanksgiving, Dedication or Believer’s Baptism you can give the Minister, Michael Herbert or Youth Minister, Simon Ford a ring on 023 9232 4688 for an informal chat.
